The rumor that we will be seeing an Apple TV has just got some credit points from Apple analyst Gene Munster. According to him, the Cupertino-based company will be launching the product next year.
His comments were made public during the IGNITION: Future of Media conference. He has asked all those who are thinking of getting a television set to wait until the product launches, because he thinks that the Apple TV is going to be awesome.
Gene believes that the Apple TV will be a wholesome set instead of an external device that needs to be plugged in. He based it on Apple’s thoughts of people disliking plug-in external hardware.
He told us to expect the Apple TV in a range of sizes, so as to make it more appealing to people of all classes. According to Gene, the Apple product is going to be priced at a cost that is twice the price for a normal television set.
Gene says the greatest advantage of the Apple TV will be its ability to integrate seamlessly with other Apple devices and services. So in spite of having a remote, the TV could be controlled by the user’s iPhone or iPad or Siri.
Users might be able to download contents and games from iTunes, App Store and the iCloud. The product is expected to have a good AI, so as to interact better with users.
Gene has touted the holiday season of 2012 as the possible release window for the amazing Apple TV. We will have to wait and see whether that will come true to prediction.
