Remember all the talk about the ASUS PadFone? The device had surprised everybody with its combination of a tablet and smartphone. The device is actually on its way.

We hear the ASUS PadFone will be introduced in February next year. During the company’s meeting on the third quarter sales with the investors, CEO Jerry Shen is said to have revealed that they will be introducing two new tablets PC models in February 2012. Meanwhile, the second generation Transformer Prime will be launched in November 9.
The company, with 1.2 million Eee Pad sales by the third quarter, expects a 600,000 units tablet PC shipment in the fourth quarter as the Transformer Prime is released in this November.

Meanwhile, it is disappointing to hear that the Transformer Prime will not be coming with the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS. But, ASUS has ensured that the Android 4.0 will reach devices in early December.
Among the two new Eee Pad Transformer tablet PC models, one with 7-inch display is believed to be priced at $299.
The ASUS PadFone comes with a 10.1-inch tablet and a 4.3-inch smartphone which is docked inside the tablet. The smartphone sports a 5-megaipxel rear camera meanwhile the tablet comes with two speakers.
It is believed that the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS will synchronize the smartphone and tablet together.
