Sammy fans check this out. We have for you here some awesome specs of the Samsung Nexus Prime, aka Galaxy Nexus. The smartphone was in the stories that spoke of the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS it bears within. As we heard earlier, the handset is expected to be unveiled in the coming Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2011- Google Episode on October 11.
The Nexus Prime details we stumbled upon are somewhat similar to the rumors we heard. As expected, the smartphone is powered by the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The handset sports a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD screen with 1280 x 720 resolutions covered by curved glass.
The device functions on a 1.2 GHz TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 1GB of RAM and 32 GB internal memory. It is incorporated with dual cameras: a 5-megapixel rear snapper and a 1.3-megapixel shooter in the front.
A 1,750 mAh battery backs the 9 mm thin device. Other features include 1080p HD video recording, LTE/HSPA based on the carrier, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and NFC.
It’s been confirmed that the Nexus Prime is a pure Google Experience device, so no third party UI or modifications that means TouchWiz will be missing. The Android 4.0 allows the phone to check each app’s data usage also.
The rumor Verizon Wireless carrying the Galaxy Nexus in the US is still live in the stories. Wait till October 11 to know the smartphone details, price and the carriers. Stay tuned.
