HTC Thunderbolt owners can finally be happy to hear this. The long-awaited Android update on their smartphones will come to them this September itself. If you remember, we had earlier heard HTC saying that the update would be rolled out on June 30. Better late than never, right?

HTC and Verizon will jointly release the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update to their customers. A catalog from Verizon shows that the Thunderbolt will come with Android 2.3. You can look out for the catalog which will soon be released in the stores this month.
HTC has also confirmed that the Android update will be available for the HTC Droid Incredible and the HTC Thunderbolt via Facebook and Twitter.
The 4G LTE-enabled phone was first released with Android 2.2 Froyo OS. The 4.3-inch touchscreen handset came with some incredible specs such as a 1GHz processor, 768 MB RAM, 8GB internal memory, dual cameras and also supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, DLNA, USB and so on.
By using the Verizon’s wireless network you can update the old OS with the new Android 2.3.
We can’t bring you the actual date of the update launch, but one thing we are sure is that it will be seen this month itself.
Thunderbolt users, be keen as you will start receiving get the Android update any time now.

ill believe it when i see it…us who have the thunderbolt are on the last of verizon and HTC’s to do list, were already in a 2 year contract with verizon so they dont care as long as they get us for 2 years, and we already bought HTC’s phone so they wont get any more money from us so why bother?
