In a move widely interpreted as a promotional exercise, Logitech has cut the price of their Google TV hardware. The much hyped Logitech Revue is now priced at $199 at Amazon. The new price is $100 down than the original price it had earlier.
A lot of debate is going on about the real intentions of Logitech to announce such a cut at this time. One argument points out that the price cut is the only option in front of them to push a hardware product which is based on a comparatively new innovation in technology. However, it seems there are less takes for this argument.
An equally strong camp is holding aloft a different argument. Though they too admit that the price cut is meant for boosting sales, they point out at the imminent launch of the new Google TV hardware based on the Android 3.1 platform. So the price cut is for clearing the way for the new device.
We guess it won’t be right to poke our nose into the debate right now, but what we find is that the price cut makes it the cheapest Google TV hardware available in the market right now. If you think they will offer it for free in the near future, you may please wait for that, or else, you may think of getting your hands on a Revue for just $199 at Amazon.
