We have great news for those of you who own an Epic 4G handset on Sprint. A leaked document is suggesting that the much-awaited Android 2.2 Froyo update for the device will roll out soon. Check out the leaked document.

Sprint Samsung Epic 4G Froyo Update to Roll Out on Dec 26

Earlier, there were reports about an unofficial update for the Epic 4G. But that OTA was meant for some beta testers only.

Now it appears that the update will come as a late Christmas gift for worried customers. An official document has revealed that the Samsung Epic 4G will be receiving Froyo on the 26th of December.

The Froyo update will be tagged as ‘DL11’, and will take around 7-8 minutes to download and the rollout process will last four days.

One of the main features that will be coming with the upgrade of the OS from Eclair to Froyo will be the ability to store applications to an external device. Other features include improved Bluetooth device support, Bluetooth Voice Dialing, Flash Player 10.1 and GPS Enhancements.
