Defending Champions Pakistan play their second game of the Asia Cup against first time entrant Afghanistan on Thursday, Feb 27, 2014.

After losing their first match against Sri Lanka, Pakistan needs to win this game to be in the contention for the finals of the Asia Cup 2014.

Afghanistan won the toss and elected to field.

The squads are as below:

Pakistan XI: Sharjeel Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez, Sohaib Maqsood, Misbah,  Umar Akmal,  Shahid Afridi,  Anwar Ali, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal and Junaid Khan.

Afghanistan XI: Mohammad Shahzad, Noor Ali Zadran, Asghar Stanikzai, Nawroz Mangal,  Mohammad Nabi,  Samiullah Shenwari, Najibullah Zadran,  Mirwais Ashraf,  Hamza Hotak, Dawlat Zadran and Shapoor Zadran.

For Afghanistan this series is going to be a big boost ahead of the T20 World Cup to be played next month. There players will surely get the much needed practice and training to play against the big guns of Asia.
