India will clash with hosts Bangladesh in their opening game of the Asia Cup to be played today, Feb 26, 2014 at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah.
The match start time is 1:30 p.m India time, 2:00 p.m Bangladeshi time.
A new Captain in Virat Kohli should make it interesting for India as fans back home have been bored with the standard routine captaincy methods adopted by MS Dhoni. Kohli is an aggressive character and that should show in his captaincy as well.
The angry young man of Indian Cricket will get his major opportunity to lead the team on Wednesday against Bangladesh at Fatullah in the ongoing Arise Asia Cup 2014.
The toss, team news and squads will be updated here soon. Follow the Ind vs Ban live scores here.
There is no doubt that India is a much stronger team than Bangladesh in all the departments of the game. However, the Men in Blue simply cannot afford to be complacent against the Tigers.
For the record, the last time the two teams clashed against each other in the Asia Cup, it resulted in a Bangladeshi victory. A selfish-looking 100th International Century from Sachin Tendulkar then ensured that the Bangladeshis weren’t chasing a par target during the 2012 Asia Cup.
The match will be telecast live on Star Sports TV Channel in India and on Channel 9 in Bangladesh. Star Sports will also be live streaming the match at its official website.

India back to flat batting tracks:
Team India will be more than relieved to play their cricket on the placid sub-continental tracks which are usually devoid of any grass.
Their batsmen had a nightmare in South Africa and New Zealand where the ball moved off the pitch with steep bounce and pace. But in Bangladesh, the same batsmen should make merry to cover up for their failures outside the sub-continent.
Bangladesh weak without Shakib and Tamim:
Bangladesh will be without their star player Shakib Al Hasan following a three-match ban on him. Another star player Tamim Iqbal is out of action with an injury thus making Bangladesh a slightly weak batting line-up.
The hosts will be banking on their spin department to strangle the Indian strokeplayers on the slow surface of Fatullah. If Bangladesh beats India on Wednesday, it will be an upset for sure no matter what their Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim thinks!
Virat Kohli has captained India in 8 ODIs! And he doesn’t have a bad record either with 7 of those matches resulting in wins although five of them were against the lowly rated Zimbabweans.
