As the Asia cup starts off today, its Pakistan taking on Sri Lanka for the first match on 25th February, 2014 at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah, Bangladesh.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka are both in good forms and have played each other recently for five-match One-Day International (ODI) series held in UAE, where the former won the series. Sri Lankans too are in good form after their stunning match against Bangladesh couple of days back.
The fortune of both teams is in hands of many new promising players who are expected to start well. Sharjeel Khan and Ahmed Shehzad will be the opening players for Pakistan, while Junaid Khan is touted by experts.

The batting line of Pakistan has developed much since poor play in most games of early 2013. Bilawal Bhatti is being seen as a good replacement to Abdur Razzaq, and Shahid Afridi is expected to be fit for the match after returning from a jaw injury.
For Sri Lankan camp, the team has been in form after their fantastic win against hosts of Asia Cup. Mahela Jayawardene and Kumara Sangakkara return for this match, while Angelo Mathews is expected to be on the finishing role on the batting line.
For the bowling part, they have confident names of Suranga Lakmal and Lasith Malinga, along with Dhammika Prasad as replacement for Nuwan Kulasekara, who is injured. Ajantha Mendis will add to the spin department as the team misses Rangana Herath.
