2014 Indian action crime thriller film, “Gunday”, that is written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Aditya Chopra has excellent starting doing good business on its first week, reports Box Office Capsule on Sunday February 16, 2014.
However, the Indian Bollywood action film saw a great fall on Saturday and then rising like a phoenix from its pyre on Sunday to come out fairly good. The film is to face the most important litmus test on Monday.
The fact worth noticing here is that the film performed considerably well in single screens but multiplexes performed well in selected regions only. The film did well in CI, CP, Delhi/UP, East Punjab and Bihar whereas its box office collections in Gujarat, Mumbai and Mysore were just good.
Gunday box-office collections day wise
|1st Day - Friday||Rs 16.12 crores|
|2nd Day Saturday||Rs 13.25 crores|
|3rd Day Sunday||Rs 16.90 crores|
|India Total||Rs 45.65 crores|
|Overseas collectios||Rs 16.10 crores|
|Total Worldwide||Rs 61.75 crores|
Starting with 16.12 crores on the opening day, it earned Rs. 12.63 on Saturday and bounced back on Sunday with its box office collection tally touching 16.90 crores that took the total domestic collection tally of to Rs. 45.65.
If we add the overseas collection of 16.10 crores to the domestic collection total, the tally goes to Rs. 61.75 crores.
From here onwards, getting over 60 crore nett week is a cakewalk, whereas the expectations to cross 65 crores nett week will depend on weekday biz.
The film is expected to cross 75 crores nett lifetime easily but touching the 100 crore nett will be a tight rope walking.
