The online magazine reports that “Veeram” and “Jilla” have amassed almost equal fortunes in the South Indian states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and the rest of India as well.

However, in Kerala, the Vijay starrer “Jilla” has surpassed Ajith’s “Veeram” by a substantial margin. Moreover, when we add overseas collections to overall figures, “Jilla” clearly outclasses “Veeram”. Accordingly, “Jilla” won the Pongal festival collection by a substantial margin.

Noted trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted about the mega success achieved by both the action-romance flicks in Malaysia, which, in itself, is a decent market for Tamil movies. Film critics see the roaring success of both the movies ominous for the Tamil film industry.
