Tamil Nadu Chief minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalitha has called upon her partymen to work towards winning all the 40 Lok Sabha seats the party would contest in the next Indian general elections to be held in May 2014.
The leader did not mince words when she lambasted the Centre’s “wrong economic policies”, even as calling for greater regional autonomy so that the states can be on the growth path.
An AIADMK win all 40 seats will give the party the strength to be a massive power who can decide on the future of the country, she said, a DNA report on January 16 said.
She also did not forget to fire salvos at arch rival DMK president M Karunanidhi, by stating that the state failed to gain anything even though the DMK had been part of most of the union cabinets over the past 17 years.
Calling for strengthening of the states, she said the Indian Union can be made stronger only by doing so. That calls for a change of government at the Centre.
She added that incorrect economic policies should go and a new government which would be compassionate in its approach towards people should be installed.
