Pongal will see a clash of south Indian superstars on the big screen. Along with super stars Ajith and Vijay’s “Veeram” and “Jilla”, actor Mahesh Babu’s “1 Nenokkadine” will also compete for the much benefiting Pongal market.
Set to release on 10 of January, EROS International has secured the worldwide release rights of the film. The movie is made on a whopping budget of Rs 70 crores and is said to be the most expensive Telugu film to be ever made.
The IBN Times has quoted trade experts on January 8 as saying that “1 Nenokkadine” will release in both India and overseas market. “1 Nenokkadine” will release on 3,500 screens worldwide, almost on the scales of a Bollywood movie.
Reports also suggest that the producers of the film have blocked several screens in countries like the US, UK and Singapore, where Indian regional films have a niche crowd following.
The movie will be released only in 32 screens in Tamil Nadu. This is only a 50 percent release in comparison with Mahesh Babu’s 2011 flick.
The film is an action thriller which carries huge expectations due to the promotions by the makers. One of the biggest ever productions in Telugu movie scene, “1 Nenokkadine” claims that it comes with an engrossing screenplay which will please the urban audience.
The film is expected to get great openings in all the territories, but if that means it will over shadow “Jilla” and “Veera” is yet to be seen.
The movie is expected to break the phenomenal box-office records of “Attarintiki Daredi” which collected Rs 74 crores worldwide.
According to early estimate, the 1st day collections of ‘1 Nenokkadine’ is said to be Rs 10.81 crores in Andhra Pradesh and Rs 16 crores worldwide.
The 1st day collections of the movie was Rs 10.75 crores and “1 Nenokkadine” is expected to break the 1st and 2nd day box office records.
