‘Dhoom 3′ First Day Collection Breaks All Box-Office Records

YRF’s Aamir Khan Katrina Kaif starrer “Dhoom 3″ which was released on Friday, Dec 20, 2013, is all set to destroy all box-office records till date.

Form the advance bookings to overseas collections in all countries, the movie has recorded unprecedented collections. The movie ‘s collections on day one is said to be in the range of Rs. 45-50 crores.

“Dhoom 3″ which was released in more than 4500 screens in India and 700 overseas registered 95 to 100% occupancy in the morning ,afternoon and night shows. The film also opened remarkably well in the overseas market.

Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted this morning, “#Dhoom3 is on a record-smashing spree in India. Previous records being shattered by a margin in several circuits. Numbers being compiled.”

According to early estimates by trade analysts, the 1st day collections is expected to touch a new high.

The 1st days collections from the Hindi version was Rs 33.42 crores. Telugu, Tamil and other versions earned another Rs 2.80 crores making a total of Rs 36.22 crores on day one.

The highest 1st day collections till date is that of Salman Khan’s “Ek Tha Tiger” which clocked Rs 31. 2 crores and SRK’s “Chennai Express” that earned Rs 29 crores on day one.

Ashish Saxena, COO of Big Cinemas, which has 258 screens across India said,”We expect this to be the biggest film ever in terms of collections. In the last quarter when not too many films work, this is a boon.

“So far, D3 has clicked in every way — star power, advance bookings and corporate and block bookings,” Saxena is confident that D3 will net Rs. 100 crore in three days and Rs. 200 crore in a week.”
