Although “Ramleela” isn’t Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s biggest opener till date, yet it surpasses “Devdas” (earned 33 crore in first week) to become the highest earner in the first week with tally going to 52.60 crore.
Even if we keep in mind the inflation since “Devdas” hit theatres long back and the way films are promoted now, there is a big difference in earning numbers and this particular movie surely made Bhansali see big money pouring in after years.
The film is another big, precisely fifth consecutive, from Deepika Padukone and may come out to be fourth in a 100 crore league. For Ranveer Singh, he will now be in the big league as “Ramleela” will surely do better business than his previous movies like “Band Baaja Baaraat”, “Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl” and “Lootera” actually managed. Now it remains to be seen how good the film does in the coming days. You can also read twitter reviews for more audience views.
