Pakistani sports channel, Geo Super, has been awarded the rights to telecast the upcoming Pakistan vs. South Africa series in the UAE.
The board has not revealed the exact value of both the contracts though it has stated that the amount for the both of them is certainly higher than the previous contract.
A PCB spokesman said that the rights-fee amounts finalized for these tour will not be announced by the board just yet.
Though he did say that the technology used for the DRS as well as the production both the broadcasters will cover cost for the series.
Geo Super will televise the Pakistan vs. Sri Lanka series that boasts of two T20s, five ODIs and two Tests along with the sole Pakistan and Afghanistan T20 match that would be played shortly after in the UAE.
Ten Sports, on the other hand, has been given the rights to televise the upcoming Pakistan vs. South Africa series. Ten Sports previously had a five-year broadcasting contract with PCB that ended in July.
However, while the caretaker board is in charge, the PCB appears to be contemplating handing out series-by-series deals instead of awarding a long-term deal right away.
With the interim board only holding a limited set of rights, the set up may be the only option that the board as well as the broadcasters have.
