All you Hyundai fans in India who have been waiting for theix35, have reasons to be disappointed. For, Hyundai will take a while before deciding on bringing the ix35 on to dealerships in the country.
Though the car maker had grabbed headlines after rumors hit the web about a possible roll out of the ix35 SUV, the latest is that Indian roads will not see any more SUVs from Hyundai, at least in the near future.
For those who didn’t know, Hyundai ix35 had earlier been scheduled to be launched as completely built units (CBU ) in India.
The rumors had spoken of a 5-seater model that would sport a fairly higher price tag. Maybe that is the reason why Hyundai is being forced to put the plan on the backburner.
It definitely would involve high costs for the company if CBU models are imported into the country.
With the plans put off, at least for now, the recently launched Santa Fe could well be the last SUV Hyundai has for India.
Powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi power plant, the Santa Fe boasts of an engine that returns 197 bhp and comes with a six-speed manual gearbox. Santa Fe is being offered for a price of around Rs 22 lakh.
