AT&T has announced shipping of the LG Optimus G Pro flagship in the US and the pre-orders for the handset will begin on May 10. The carrier will be the exclusive provider of the LG Optimus G Pro, the 5.5-inch smartphone priced priced at $200 on contract.
AT&T’s Optimus G Pro version is identical to its international sibling and fits the phablet category. The device sports a 1,920x 1,080 full HD IPS display and offers 440 pixels per inch.
The phablet from LG is powered by the Snapdragon 600 platform with a 1.7GHz quad-core Krait 300 processor and packs Adreno 320 graphics along with 2GB of RAM.
The gadget has 32 GB of in-built memory, and can be expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. The Optimus G Pro also includes a 13-megapixel HD rear-facing camera and 2.1-megapixel front shooter, both the cameras allows simultaneous recording.
The stylish ergonomic design and narrow screen bezel make the handset easy to handle and offers portability.
The rig also includes QuickRemote feature, which turns the handset into a universal remote control for TVs, set top boxes and Blu-ray players via its built-in infrared sensor. There are features like VuTalk and QuickMemo that allows users to draw and share notes via social media.
According to James Fishler, senior vice president of marketing at LG Electronics USA, the Optimus G Pro offers a variety of features and capabilities that enhance multitasking functionalities.
