The results of the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Elections held in seven city corporations and 201 City Municipals Councils will be declared on Monday, March 11, 2013 by the Karnataka Chief Electoral officer.

According to early trends, the ruling BJP was leading in the North of the State while the opposition Congress and first timer KJP were leading in some constituencies.

When latest reports came in, 4952 results were declared. The Congress got 1960 seats while the BJP was second with 905 seats, followed by Janatha Dal with 904 seats.

The elections were held for 7 city corporations Hubli-Dharwad, Mysore, Mangalore, Belgaum, Davangere, Bellary and Gulbarga on March 7, 2013. Latest Karnataka assembly election results.

Around 67% percent voting took place in these regions. The fate of around 21,000 candidates who had contested for 4,967 seats will be revealed on Monday at around 11:00 a.m. India time.

The fading ruling BJP is looking to wrest the seats from opposition Congress, KJP and the Janatha Dal (S) parties. The newly formed parties like KJP of former CM Yedyurappa and BSR Congress of B Sriramulu have also put up their candidates aggressively.
