This time around, the India-Australia series is going to be more interesting than ever before, as both the teams have a couple of new faces and are without a few of their best batsmen.

Australia will be without their best batsmen Ricky Ponting and Micheal Hussey, where as Indian team will be on the field without Rahul Dravid and V V S Laxman, who were the best in Test matches against Australia.

Until this day, Australia had played 42 matches against India, in which they won 12 matches and lost 15. As many as 15 matches ended in a draw.

Obviously, the Indian team will have an upper hand on home soil and also have the confidence of winning the World Cup by defeating Australian. But recently, the Indian cricket team’s performance levels have dropped, as we had seen against Pakistan in ODIs and T20 matches. This aspect could boost the confidence of Australian team.

According to Ian Chappell, the India-Australia series will be a tussle between spin and pace attacks and young and experienced squads.

The TV channels that will broadcast the India- Australia 2013 Test series, will include Fox Sports (Australia), Star Cricket & Star Sports (India), Star Cricket/ Star Sports (Nepal), Super Sport (South Africa and other Countries), CricOne on Pehla (UAE), Sky Sports (UK) and  Willow Cricket (USA).
