This year, Archos is expected to reveal a bunch of wonderful tablets that will tighten the competition in the slate scenario. The French company had revealed their tablet line up scheduled for 2012 at the Press Conference inParis. They are planning to introduce some Element series slates and the G10xs series that would take the Apple iPad head on very soon.
The interesting fact is that the G10xs series stand out with a 7.6mm-thick steel housing, which is approximately 1.8mm slimmer than the Apple’s new iPad.
Archos will also provide a keyboard dock for the G10 tablets which looks similar to the Asus’s Transformer Prime.
The total thickness of the tablet and docked keyboard will be about 11mm. It is also believed that the slates would be coming with the Archos’s patented plastic overmolded construction. The G10xs tablets are expected to be released in September with a price ranging from 200 to 300EUR (~$260 – 390 USD).
The Archos elements series tablets sporting Google certification will be the budget-friendly ones. The company will launch three slates from the elements line up: a 7-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch models. The three elements tablets will be available at a price of 129EUR (~$168 USD), 149EUR (~$195 USD) and 199EUR (~$260 USD).
Archos, however, hasn’t announced the specs and operating system of their new tablets. Stay tuned as we go looking for more on that.
