HTC myTouch 4G Slide users can now taste Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Sense 4.0 UI on their devices. The Alpha Android 4.0 port from the XDA Developers has been termed as ‘Futureal’. The ROM ports the leaked HTC One X firmware to the myTouch 4G Slide using the ClockworkMod recovery.

The myTouch 4G Slide users will have to download the file and transfer it to the root of the phone’s microSD card. After a full wipe, install the zip file from the SD card and your handset will be loaded with the ROM via ClockworkMod.

You can find the detailed steps for installing the ROM from the XDA Developers website. There is also a warning that you might find some bugs along with the ROM.

Before installing the ROM, just remember that this alpha version is not fully ready now as they have reminded that the updates will be released following.

However, once porting of the ROM is done, the handset’s camcorder will not function. Along with the video playback skips, the dock icons in the smartphone can not be replaced at present.

Also, it is reported that the applications are not running properly with the screen size problems. So it would be better if you can wait for the new updated ROM, which will be seen soon.
